Few independent shops around Boston will take on an Alfa Romeo. We specialize in them — mechanical repair, factory-level diagnostics and module programming for the Giulia, Stelvio, Tonale and 4C, using only genuine parts sourced through authorized Alfa Romeo dealers.
Most general repair shops send Alfa owners straight back to the dealer: these cars need brand-specific diagnostic software, the right parts and someone who knows the platform. We handle the whole car — a Giulia that stalls or won't start, a Stelvio leaking from the transfer case, a brake-system warning, or a replacement module that needs programming — and we fit only genuine parts ordered through our Alfa Romeo dealer partners.
Alfa Romeo builds some of the best-driving cars on the road — and some of the most specialized to keep running. The Giulia and Stelvio rely on a dense network of control modules, an integrated brake-by-wire system and an electrical system that is very sensitive to battery health, and generic scan tools only half understand them. That's why so many owners end up stuck between a busy dealer service lane and general shops that won't touch the car.
ECU Perform closes that gap. We're a Worcester-based Alfa Romeo specialist serving Boston and the rest of Massachusetts — full mechanical repair and maintenance, factory-level diagnostics, and the programming and coding work that usually means a trip to the dealer.
Serving Alfa Romeo owners in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline, Newton, Quincy, Waltham, Framingham, Worcester, Springfield and across Massachusetts.

The issues Giulia, Stelvio and Tonale owners actually bring in — and how we handle them.
One of the most common Giulia and Stelvio messages, often together with “Start & Stop unavailable”. It's frequently triggered by low battery voltage or a failing battery sensor rather than the throttle itself — so we test the battery and charging system first, then the throttle body and software, instead of guessing with parts.
Fuel-delivery problems — including low-pressure fuel pump failures that led to recalls on early Giulia and Stelvio model years. We check open recalls by VIN first: if it's covered, the dealer fixes it free; if not, we repair it with genuine parts.
ABS, ESC, steering and brake warnings all at once usually come from one root cause — battery health, a ground or connector, or one module upsetting the network. A full module scan with factory-level software finds the source.
A known weak spot on all-wheel-drive Stelvio and Giulia models: seals at the transfer case and front differential begin to seep. We reseal with genuine gaskets and refill with the correct fluid.
The Giulia and Stelvio use an integrated brake-by-wire system. Warning messages, pedal-feel complaints and the bleed and calibration procedures that brake work requires all need factory-level software — which we have in-house.
Frozen or rebooting screens, a lost backup camera or Bluetooth problems — software updates and module resets first, replacement plus programming when the unit has truly failed.
Leaks at the condenser or lines and failed compressors. We leak-test, replace with genuine parts and recharge with R-1234yf to factory specification.
Seeping turbo oil lines, cooling-system leaks and tired gaskets — found, fixed and verified before a small leak turns into an engine problem.
A replacement module has to be programmed and aligned to your car before it works. We program ECM, TCM, BCM, cluster and more to your VIN — new or used — including proxi alignment.
We work directly with authorized Alfa Romeo dealer parts departments. Every part is looked up by your VIN and ordered as genuine OEM — no knock-offs, no “fits-most” substitutes, no guessing about which version your car needs.
Because we work alongside the dealer network rather than against it, we'll always tell you when a repair is covered by an open recall or your factory warranty. That work is free at the dealer — you shouldn't pay us for it.
ECU Perform is an independent Alfa Romeo specialist, not an Alfa Romeo dealership — we simply source our parts through them.
We decode your VIN to the exact part numbers for your car's build.

Buying a used Alfa? We scan every module, review fault history and open recalls, and inspect the car before you commit.
Alfa Romeo is part of Stellantis, and the Giulia, Stelvio and Tonale use the group's factory diagnostic platform — so most real repairs need factory-level software: module replacement, key programming, brake and steering calibrations, transmission adaptations and software updates.
Because we program at module level, we can work on any control unit on the car — engine, transmission, body, gateway, cluster, infotainment, brakes, steering and driver-assistance modules — including new-unit programming and used-module cloning. Lost keys? See immobilizer & key programming.
Call, text or use the form — year, model and what the car is doing.
Factory-level scan of every module, live data and a hands-on inspection.
A written quote with genuine dealer-sourced parts before any work starts.
Repair, programming and adaptations done, faults cleared, road-tested.
Year, model and what it's doing — we'll reply with next steps and a clear estimate. No surprises.
